Registration

To practise medicine in the UK you must be registered with a licence to practise from the General Medical Council (GMC).

Regulator: General Medical Council (GMC)

Pay

Doctors are paid on the separate medical and dental pay scales (set on DDRB advice), not Agenda for Change — for example the FY1/FY2 foundation, core/specialty training and consultant scales.

What to put in your profile

  • Your GMC reference number and registration type (full, provisional, or in progress via PLAB/UKMLA).
  • Your grade and specialty (e.g. FY2, IMT2, ST4 cardiology, specialty doctor, consultant).
  • English-language evidence status (IELTS/OET) if you qualified outside the UK.
  • The UK regions and employer types (NHS trust, GP practice, independent) you would relocate to.
  • Right-to-work status and whether you would need Health and Care Worker visa sponsorship.
